Hello and welcome to Gossip Time, a weekly guide to the stars by Allie Jones. This week: a singer likes her boyfriend, an actress declines to acknowledge another slightly older actress, and Chace Crawford walks his dog.
Everyone is talking about the new Adele song, which makes sense, because it’s really good. But did you know Adele also has a nice boyfriend now?
Us Weekly has the inside scoop. The tabloid reported this week that the 33-year-old Grammy winner is in a “fantastic place” with Rich Paul, a 39-year-old sports agent whose clients include Lebron James, Anthony Davis, Kendall Jenner’s ex-boyfriend Ben Simmons, etc. Adele and Paul were first photographed together this summer, and the singer nicely acknowledged him in her recent Vogue profile. According to Us Weekly’s source, “They’re very committed at this point and it’s hard to imagine they won’t be together for an extremely long time.”
Adele “really feels like she hit the jackpot,” the source added. I hope Paul also feels like that, because, one more time, the song:
In other adult-contemporary romance news, Chris Martin is still with Dakota Johnson, even though it appears they are not living together right now. The 44-year-old Coldplay frontman and the 32-year-old actress were photographed together for the first time since July this week, leaving Claridge’s Hotel after the London premiere of Johnson’s new movie The Lost Daughter. The night before, Johnson attended one of Martin’s shows, and he dedicated the song “My Universe” to her:
If she’s happy, I’m happy.
What else: Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff are making out on the streets again, this time in HOLLYWOOD. The 26-year-old actress and 37-year-old music producer were photographed wrapping their arms around each other outside the Sunset Tower Hotel on Tuesday. And a few days before that, they were spotted in New York, shuffling along in a way that does not seem comfortable for either party:
But the most mysterious musician/actress pairing lately is The Weeknd and Angelina Jolie. According to OK! Magazine, which is not a reliable news organization but occasionally reports things that make sense, The Weeknd “has been obsessed with Angie for years.”
A source added, “He first hooked up with her this summer saying he needed help for a charity project, but his intention all along was to have a serious relationship.”
What is Jolie’s intention? Well, she was photographed getting dinner with the singer earlier this month, which sounds positive. But then this week, she was photographed getting dinner with her first husband Jonny Lee Miller (again).
Best of luck to all involved.
Do you remember when Beanie Feldstein got cast in the Broadway revival of Funny Girl, and everyone was like, oh no, Lea Michele is going to lose it? This was about two months ago. Anyway, Andy Cohen asked Feldstein about it on his radio show this week, and she had a very funny response.
“I didn't know that any of this was happening by the way,” she said. “And all of a sudden people started explaining it to me, and I was like: Wait, what's happening?"
“I don’t know the woman whatsoever,” she explained.
Then, just hours after the interview, Feldstein, 28, and Michele, 35, coincidentally attended the same event in New York. (It was, per Just Jared, “the launch of (RED) and American Express’ campaign CODE (RED) to Fight COVID.”)
Do you think they waved at each other? Lin-Manuel Miranda was there, too.
STUFF BY HILARY DUFF: Hilary Duff reports that things are getting spooky.
Finally, I’ll leave you with this photo of Chace Crawford walking his dog in the Hamptons on Tuesday:
According to the Just Jared article where I found this image, Crawford is doing some kind of ad for Coors Light here. Works for me!
