Hello and welcome to Gossip Time, a weekly guide to the stars by Allie Jones. Today, we’re discussing everything celebrities are doing in the midst of an historic and not-at-all nerve-racking election. Thank God for them!
You have to hand it to Ariana Grande: She made it all the way to Wicked (Part One) premiere month, and she is still dating Ethan Slater. News of their affair, er, relationship broke in July 2023, when both were still technically married to other people (Grande to a random real estate agent named Dalton Gomez, Slater to his high-school sweetheart and the mother of his baby son, Lilly Jay). The backlash was swift, but Grande and Slater basically stayed quiet for 16 months, and now they are promoting the movie as an official couple. Grande posted a photo of Slater carrying her big pink train at the Sydney premiere this weekend:
Slater, meanwhile, got a profile in GQ, in which he admitted to “falling in love” with Grande on the movie’s London set. Fans seem to think he’s a nice guy now — the “Wicked News Hub” account on Twitter boldly proclaimed that “the world owes him an apology” this week.
Click here to watch the video, in which Slater promises to give Grande a fan’s homemade friendship bracelet. I wonder if they’ll get married before Part Two premieres next November.
Gisele Bündchen, who may or may not have started dating her jiu-jitsu trainer Joachim Valente when she was still technically married to Tom Brady, is also not hiding her relationship. Bündchen, 44, got papped with Valente, 35 or 37, who’s to say, for the first time since leaking her pregnancy news last week. They went to lunch in Miami with her kids. According to People, Bündchen is “excited to embrace this new chapter openly.” I’m excited for her!
Also pregnant: Jennifer Lawrence. She announced via Vogue last month and popped up in Vegas this week to knock on doors for Kamala Harris. Thank you!
Margot Robbie just had her first baby, a boy, this weekend, according to People. Did you know that J-Law and Robbie are allegedly the same age (34)? This doesn’t sit right with me for some reason.
Blake Lively, meanwhile, is 37, which I believe. She showed up at the LACMA Art + Film Gala this weekend, which I think means she has fully reentered society in the wake of all the It Ends With Us drama this summer. Here’s a roundup of all the red carpet looks from the gala if you really need to burn some time this afternoon.
Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, did not attend the gala, perhaps because he was still recovering from Martha Stewart absolutely ending him during the Bilt Rewards Rent Free game show (?) last week:
(Reynolds and Lively are neighbors to Stewart in Bedford, NY.)
Also not doing well: Channing Tatum. He was papped for the first time since news of his breakup with Zoë Kravitz broke last week:
Kravitz, meanwhile, was spotted at the SNL afterparty on Saturday having a “girls night” with Natasha Lyonne. She will be fine.
The celebrity who is currently doing the best is for sure Taylor Swift. There were rumors she was going to make a surprise appearance at the Harris rally in Pittsburgh last night, but instead she went to her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s home game wearing Louboutins, Dior, and Chanel:
And she sat in a VIP suite with open Trump supporter Brittany Mahomes.
Ahhh okay sorry now I’m nervous again. What are you all reading/watching/scrolling to get through the day?
Why is the WAG uniform shorts and knee high boots always
you're doing the lord's work. thank you
