Hello and welcome to Gossip Time, a weekly guide to the stars by Allie Jones. This week: a celebrity couple buys matching outfits, another celebrity couple hides a pregnancy, and Ashley Olsen walks into the woods.
Where in the world are Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez? I’m so glad you asked. Right at this second, they are in Los Angeles, but before that, they were in the Hamptons, and it looks like it was a nice trip.
In addition to wearing matching khaki outfits, Affleck and J.Lo reportedly engaged in wholesome summertime activities during their visit. “They were with family and friends and had several activities planned, including beach outings, boating and a BBQ," a source told People. The same source added that Affleck is “bonding” with Lopez’s kids, twins Max and Emme, 13.
Does this mean Affleck and J.Lo are going to move in together and create their own version of the Brady Bunch? Us Weekly says YES. “Ben and Jen are spending almost every night together when they’re not working,” a source told the tabloid. “They plan on moving in together very soon.”
E! News, however, says NOT SO FAST. A source told the gossip outlet that Lopez and Affleck like their individual homes in L.A., and that everything is “going well as is.” Personally, if I were a celebrity, I would enjoy having multiple homes and sleep in a different one every night. But I guess this is something Bennifer will eventually have to figure out.
Oh, by the way, Lopez’s ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez was in the Hamptons this week, too, and he was absolutely SWARMED by women. According to Rodriguez’s preferred gossip outlet Page Six, a “bevy of beauties” tried to approach Rodriguez at billionaire Michael Rubin’s 4th of July party in Bridgehampton.
“He goes and sits with Jay-Z, Robert Kraft and Rubin,” a source revealed, very casually. “Alex had not seen Jay since the pandemic started. Then all these girls surrounded their table. It was literally a bevy of beauties trying to get to Alex.”
I’m sure he played it very cool.
Meanwhile, in L.A., Zendaya and Tom Holland confirmed their relationship once and for all last weekend by making out in Holland’s Audi. Miles Diggs, the paparazzo who got the shots, told me last year that sometimes celebrities will call him directly when they want to have their photo taken. I don’t know if that was the case here, but Zendaya, 24, and Holland, 25, certainly seemed happy to go public. Their next Spider-Man movie hits theaters in December.
The most important paparazzi photo of this week, however, was taken in Laguna Beach, California. It’s Renée Zellweger and her random new boyfriend Ant Anstead, together in public for the first time:
Zellweger appears to be holding a mug that says “HOME IS WHERE DAD IS.” Flawless, no notes.
One celebrity couple we haven’t seen in awhile: Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost. That is probably because the 36-year-old actress and 39-year-old “Weekend Update” host are reportedly expecting their first child together. Page Six revealed the pregnancy news, with a source claiming that Johansson is “actually due soon.”
Johansson seems to be going out of her way to avoid the media right now — her big Marvel movie, Black Widow, came out this week, but she didn’t show up to any of the premieres. Her co-star, Florence Pugh, has apparently been filling in for her: She walked the red carpet at the London premiere and appeared on the cover of The Sunday Times’ Style magazine this week. In the corresponding story, she talked about how everyone seems to hate her 45-year-old boyfriend Zach Braff.
"I think it bugs people that it's not who they expected," she said.
Who did people expect her to date? I guess Harry Styles. But he’s in Tuscany with his 37-year-old girlfriend Olivia Wilde. Everyone’s happy!
