Hello and welcome to Gossip Time, a weekly guide to the stars by Allie Jones. This week: two Jennifers contemplate eternity with their current partners, a reality star reveals her baby’s name, and Al Pacino dances in the street.
Valentine’s Day is on Monday, and as of this writing, Ben Affleck has yet to propose to Jennifer Lopez. What are we doing here? Why is J.Lo walking the white carpet in a white dress at the premiere of her rom-com literally called Marry Me without a six-carat pink diamond ring on her finger? If this is not the moment for a proposal, what is? I give up.
It’s now possible that Affleck’s ex-wife Jennifer Garner will get married again before he does. At least, that’s what it says on the cover of Us Weekly:
Garner, you may recall, is dating John Miller, the CEO of a robotic burger company. Garner, 49, and Miller, 44, are rarely photographed together even though they have been dating on and off since 2018. They have “sparked engagement rumors” before, when Garner wore a diamond ring on her left hand during an Instagram Live with Judy Greer in November. But now the Miller-Garner engagement is really for sure happening 100 percent, according to Us Weekly. A source told the tabloid, “John openly admits to friends that he sees Jen as marriage material, so it’s really just a matter of time before they make things official.” The source added that he plans to propose ahead of Garner’s 50th birthday on April 17, at which point they will move in together and start planning the wedding.
“Jen’s had tough times,” the source added. “There have been days when she really had to dig deep to stay positive. But she has a spiritual connection with John. He’s the type of guy she’s been dreaming of her whole life.”
Again, the only thing we know about this man is that he is the CEO of a fast-food enterprise that uses robots to flip burgers. But the Garner-Miller relationship is so solid, per this source, that Garner doesn’t even want to get a prenup. For what it’s worth, Garner and Affleck didn’t have a prenup either, which is insane. I think Lopez would insist on one. SHOULD BEN EVER ASK.
Kylie Jenner is not engaged, but she did announce the birth of her second child with Travis Scott this week. The couple’s son was born on 2/2/22, per Jenner’s Instagram announcement. While she clearly nailed the birth date, the baby’s name leaves something to be desired: it’s Wolf Webster.
“Wolf” is no longer unique in the celebrity baby name world; Jenner’s new bundle of joy is not even the first Baby Wolf we’ve heard about this week. Yesterday, the rapper Eve announced she gave birth to a baby boy named Wilde Wolf Fife Alexander Somers Cooper.
And of course you remember the biggest baby-naming drama of 2019, when Lauren Conrad named her son Charlie Wolf Tell after her acquaintance Zooey Deschanel named her son Charlie Wolf Pechenik. I guess Jenner gets points for going with Wolf as a first name.
What do you think Rihanna will name her baby? I have zero guesses but I know I will love it.
STUFF BY HILARY DUFF: Hilary Duff went out to dinner with her current husband Matthew Koma and her ex-boyfriend Joel Madden and his current wife Nicole Richie in L.A. on Sunday. Wow!! Pete Wentz and his current wife Meagan Camper were there too, along with music executive Josh Abraham and his wife Gina. Abraham shared a photo of the outing on Instagram:
And then Duff shared a photoshopped version of all four couples on her Instagram. Inside joke?
Duff and Madden started dating in 2004, when Duff was 16 and Madden was 25. They broke up two years later, and Madden started dating Richie. Duff’s song “Gypsy Woman” off her 2007 pop album Dignity is allegedly about Richie, and it’s not very nice. But I guess everything is fine now.
Finally, I’ll leave you with these photos of Al Pacino, 81, dancing on the street in Beverly Hills:
Good for him.
