Hello and welcome to Gossip Time, a weekly guide to the stars by Allie Jones. This week: some celebrities are in love, other celebrities are choosing not to pay attention to the cheating rumors, and Leo DiCaprio’s girlfriend is reading The Bell Jar.
It’s almost February 14th. Do you know which celebrities are dating other celebrities? Let’s start with Olivia Wilde, who has been hooking up with Harry Styles in the wake of her split from her longtime fiancé Jason Sudeikis last fall. Wilde is “very happy with Harry,” a source told People this week. They’re both still working on Don’t Worry Darling in L.A., which means they “spend all their time together,” but they would probably do that anyway, because according to the source, they “seem very serious.”
Serious enough to get married? That’s the plan for Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley, who apparently got engaged recently. Rodgers announced the happy news at something called the “NFL Honors” last weekend. A source told People that Rodgers’ friends and family didn’t expect him to commit so soon. "It was a surprise that they got so close so quickly,” the source said. “I mean, it really felt like one day he was with Danica Patrick, and then suddenly he was with Shailene. It happened super fast.”
The source continued, sort of rudely, “It was so fast that at first, we thought she was just a rebound. There was no way this could be so serious.” Well, now it is, so there. It’s not clear how the actress and quarterback met, but according to Page Six, they have the same astrologer. (Woodley is a Scorpio and Rodgers is a Sagittarius; let me know if you think that sounds good or not.)
Also engaged: Figure skater Adam Rippon and his Finnish boyfriend Jussi-Pekka Kajaala. I like their rings!
And despite the report that he was FaceTiming a blonde Bravo TV personality, A-Rod is still engaged to J-Lo. The couple was photographed going to lunch together in Miami this week. “Everything is fine with Alex,” a source told E! News this week. Lopez “doesn't let the cheating rumors get to her and chooses not to pay attention.”
What do you choose not to pay attention to? For me, it’s usually Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard talking about their marriage, but this headline really got me yesterday:
Bell apparently took the time to respond to a commenter who declared, “Every piece of news I see about them talks about how they just can’t fucking stand each other, constantly fight...Straight people are so tragic.” I mean, true.
In the not-yet-eternally-committed column, we have Michael B. Jordan and Lori Harvey, who just celebrated the actor’s 34th birthday together. Harvey posted an Instagram tribute to Jordan with her nickname for him: “nugget.” (He calls her “turtle.”) A source told Entertainment Tonight that there are “no red flags” for either party in the relationship, which, okay, great. “They're both totally invested, committed and very happy,” the source added.
Also newly dating: Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. The pair were photographed together for the first time since news of their relationship broke last month. It looks like they had a nice date at Matsuhisa in L.A. An eyewitness told People, “They flirted and were smiling. They even held hands across the table.” Damn.
Katie Holmes and Emilio Vitolo Jr. were photographed this week too, shopping in Manhattan. It appears that Holmes is excited for the holiday weekend:
If we get a big celebrity Valentine’s Day engagement, I think it will be them.
I was hoping to provide a seasonal update on one of my favorite couples, Leo DiCaprio and his 23-year-old model girlfriend Cami Morrone, but unfortunately, Morrone’s regular sources haven’t updated the tabloids about the couple’s plans to get married and have lots of babies since last year. Perhaps a new story is coming this weekend? For now, you might be interested to learn that Morrone is excited to start this.
STUFF BY HILARY DUFF: Hilary Duff is launching a line of rompers on February 23rd.
Finally, I’ll leave you with this photo of a newly single Ben Affleck riding his electric Harley next to his eight-year-old son on a bike. I hope you all get to spend some quality time with people you love this weekend.
Thanks so much for opening this email. If you have a friend who likes celebrity gossip, feel free to forward it to them.
And as always, I welcome your feedback in the comments or via email. Happy Valentine’s Day and #freebritney!
Uh oh--Astrology.com has Rogers/Woodley's number: "If a Scorpio and a Sagittarius want to make a love match, they should be warned to slow down, take their time getting to know one another on a deep, significant level or else they run the risk of getting way ahead of themselves. This relationship could be over before either partner even realizes it’s started if they’re not careful!"
