Dax Shepard, shut up about Ashley Olsen

Hello and welcome to Gossip Time, a weekly guide to the stars by Allie Jones. This week: a podcast host reveals a lost love, a reality star declares herself legally single, and Dakota Johnson goes to Disneyland with Blue Ivy.
Have you heard of the “Armchair Expert”? His name is Dax Shepard, and he is a 47-year-old actor-turned-podcast-host who is currently married to Kristen Bell, though I believe that relationship is hanging by a thread. Shepard’s thing is talking about himself to other celebrities for several hours each week on his podcast, sometimes sharing intimate details about his marriage to Bell, and sometimes talking about famous women he dated before he got together with her in 2007. This week, for no apparent reason, Shepard revealed that he used to date Ashley Olsen.
“I dated Ashley Olsen and she's just the most wonderful person,” he said. “She's fantastic.”
He added that this was “15 or 16 years ago,” when Shepard was 31 or 32 and Olsen was 19 or 20. Shepard said he was “thunderstruck by her beauty” at a party and that the pair bonded over their shared love of cars. Oh, and if you were worried about whether Shepard thought it was weird to be dating a woman who once played a baby on Full House, he didn’t. “I luckily never saw that show, because I probably wouldn't have been able to be attracted to Ashley if I knew her as a baby,” he said.
In a rigorous Google search, I was not able to find any photos of Shepard and Olsen together, and no one has come forward to corroborate Shepard’s claims. Olsen, of course, has not commented. She has reportedly been dating the 32-year-old rich-kid artist Louis Eisner since 2017.
Olsen and Eisner are rarely photographed together, but they did make their “red carpet debut” last fall at Eisner’s dad’s charity gala. And who could forget the moment last summer when Eisner shared this photo of Olsen hiking through the woods with a machete:
My hope is that one day Olsen slinks into Shepard and Bell’s $4.3 million English Revival mansion in Los Feliz and leaves it on Shepard’s pillow.
Great news: A judge declared Kim Kardashian legally single in a hearing related to her ongoing divorce from Kanye West this week. More importantly, she has dropped the “West” from her Instagram name:
On the night of this monumental change, Kardashian attended the opening of Revolve’s Social Club in L.A. According to an eyewitness who spoke to E! News, the reality star’s spirits were high. This intrepid source said they asked Kardashian how she was, and Kardashian responded, “I'm doing so great!”
Kardashian’s current boyfriend Pete Davidson is also feeling good. Yesterday, Page Six reported that the comedian is planning to go to space with his pal Jeff Bezos. “Pete is excited,” a source told the site. Woohoo.
West, meanwhile, has spent the week in Miami hanging out with Khloe Kardashian’s (hopefully) ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson. He’s also been photographed several times with a Kardashian “lookalike” named Chaney Jones. What about Julia Fox? She’s still around, don’t worry. In an interview with The New York Times this week, Fox said she has no hard feelings about her breakup with West last month.
“Look at the big picture,” she said. “That was amazing for me. The exposure was priceless.” Indeed.
STUFF BY HILARY DUFF: This week, Hilary Duff smiled from ear-to-ear as she held an iced coffee while with her two daughters at a farmers' market in Los Angeles.
