Last week, Deadline reported that Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and their good buddy Hugh Jackman would not attend the Golden Globes in the wake of Lively’s lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment and retaliation. Reynolds and Jackman were technically nominated — Deadpool & Wolverine got a nod in the “Cinematic and Box Office Achievement” category — but it makes sense why the whole trio would skip this year. Lively’s attorneys are doing a great job talking for her; she does not need to risk it all on a red carpet interview right now. And Jackman is in the midst of a slow, careful rollout of his relationship with Sutton Foster, whom he allegedly started hooking up with when they were both still married to other people.
Jackman, 56, and Foster, 49, have honestly played this better than I expected.
