Hello and welcome to Gossip Time, a weekly guide to the stars by Allie Jones. This week: a Kardashian gets a new boyfriend, a pop star gets pregnant, and Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson get a modern farmhouse.
Will you watch the final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians? I said last week that sure, I will, but after taking a peek at the first teaser trailer released yesterday, I’m waffling. (No, okay, fine, I obviously will.) In the 58-second clip, we see Kim Kardashian giving us cry-face, Khloe Kardashian pretending she’s going to have another baby with Tristan Thompson, and the rest of the family pretending that Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick are going to get back together. Not pictured: Kanye West, whom Kim is reportedly divorcing. Also not pictured: Travis Barker, whom Kourtney is reportedly dating, making the whole will-they-or-won’t-they storyline with Disick irrelevant.
According to People, the POOSH founder and the Blink-182 drummer (and former reality star) are a real thing and have been happening for a while now. Kardashian, 41, and Barker, 45, both Instagrammed from Kris Jenner’s manse in Palm Springs last weekend. And they’ve been leaving “flirty” comments on each other’s Instagrams. AND a People source said this: “They've been dating for about a month or two. They've been friends for a long time but it's turned romantic. Travis has liked her for a while.”
This seems nice? The two have a lot in common, anyway: They live in the same neighborhood in Calabasas, and they’re both friendly with celeb pastor Chad Veach. And according E! News, the rest of the Kardashians approve of the relationship. Even Disick is on board: A source told E! that “he couldn’t be happier that she’s moved on.” (Last time we checked, he was still dating teenage Instagram models.)
Barker hasn’t seriously dated another famous person since his 2008 divorce from Shanna Moakler. Recently, he’s been drumming for Machine Gun Kelly, who is also in love.
MGK is in New York to perform on Saturday Night Live this weekend, and the paparazzi caught him walking into his hotel with girlfriend Megan Fox yesterday. Fox was wearing hot pink cat ears and a huge diamond ring on her left hand, so now people think they’re engaged.
The couple has been dating for a little less than a year, and they have been very open about how much they like each other. Last July, Fox said on a podcast that she believes MGK is her “twin flame.”
“A twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time,” she explained. “So we're actually two halves of the same soul, I think. And I said that to him almost immediately because I felt it right away."
That same month, MGK told Teen Vogue, “I think Megan has the most beautiful feet that exist.”
I’m happy for them!
Another celebrity making a lifelong commitment: Halsey. The 26-year-old pop star announced her pregnancy yesterday with an Instagram photoshoot, and she revealed that a person named Alev Aydin is the father by tagging him on her belly.
As soon as she posted the news, the tabloids set to work identifying this mysterious boyfriend. Us Weekly’s Instagram caption about him is really good: “Alev Aydin is making headlines after his GF, Halsey, revealed she is pregnant with the couple’s first child. So, who is he anyway? 5 things to know about him + his reaction to her pregnancy reveal are at the link in bio.”
So, who is he anyway? Lol. Of course, I had the same question. It turns out he’s a 37-year-old actor/writer/producer originally from Turkey. (One of the things Us Weekly thinks you should know about him is that “he loves to be behind the camera.” Also: “he’s bicoastal.”)
According to People, Halsey and Aydin have been dating for “several months” and are very happy together. Great!
In celebrity real estate news, Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson bought a $12.5 million house together in Malibu. Us Weekly has photos of the property here. The first thing I thought when I clicked through them is that it looks like a nicer version of the “modern farmhouses” all the Vanderpump Rules cast members got. What do you think?
Also of note: Matt Damon put his Pacific Palisades mansion on the market for $21 million last week. Hmm. He’s currently quarantining in Australia, where he’ll film the new Thor movie alongside his buddy Chris Hemsworth. We haven’t gotten any pap shots of Damon down under yet, but rest assured I am still on ring watch.

Finally, I’ll leave you with a classic Us Weekly article from 2007, care of Pop Culture Died in 2009:
To think, Florence Pugh was only 11 years old when this story was published. I guess it all worked out for everyone in the end.
