I regret to inform you that Selena Gomez is on Instagram again. This time, the 31-year-old pop star is talking about her perfect new boyfriend Benny Blanco, a 35-year-old music producer and professional foodie. Gomez and Blanco have worked together several times before, most recently on her single, “Single Soon.” Fans have been speculating about their relationship for a few weeks, and last night Gomez got on Instagram to confirm the rumors and comment with wild abandon, as she is wont to do.
Gomez posted several comments about Blanco on the platform, including, “He is my absolute everything in my heart.” She also said he is the best boyfriend she’s ever had, and that she has been with him for six months. Then she posted a drunk looking selfie of the two of them on her story. Then she posted a photo of herself wearing a diamond ring with a “B” on it. Okay!!!
Earlier this year, Gomez was spotted making out with former One Direction star Zayn Malik, who happens to be the ex-boyfriend of her sometime enemy Gigi Hadid. Gomez never confirmed that relationship, but she did make a big deal about unfollowing Hadid on Instagram. Before that, she was linked to one of The Chainsmokers.
Blanco, meanwhile, is certainly celebrity adjacent but has never dated someone on Gomez’s fame level before. His last girlfriend was the model Elsie Hewitt, who has one million followers on Instagram compared to Gomez’s 429 million. Is he a good boyfriend for Gomez? I’ll just quote Gomez’s own words to another concerned fan on Instagram last night:
“I don't understand. If you actually care about me. This is my happiest. If you don’t feel free to say whatever you want. But I will never allow your words to guide my life. Ever. I’m done. If you can’t accept me at my happiest then don’t be in [m]y life at all.”
Sounds like things are great.
Speaking of Hadid, she is also happily supporting a new boyfriend in public — Bradley Cooper, of course. The 28-year-old model was spotted patronizing Cooper’s new Philly cheesesteak food truck for charity in Manhattan yesterday. Yes, the 48-year-old actor/director has a Philly cheesesteak food truck for charity now — Oscar voters, are you paying attention?
Cooper’s ex-girlfriend Irina Shayk showed up to the truck yesterday, too, along with their daughter, but not at the same time as Hadid. Hadid swung by with Cooper’s close personal friend Laura Dern, which feels like a flex.
Lest you worry, Cooper is also supportive of Hadid’s professional endeavors: He has been photographed wearing several different pieces from her overpriced cashmere line, Guest in Residence. The brand even used a pap photo of him in an Instagram ad. Everyone wins!
According to a source who talked to Entertainment Tonight, Cooper and Hadid’s very convenient relationship is going swimmingly. “Gigi and Bradley get along well and have similar personalities. Underneath it all, they are both goofy, love to laugh, travel, and spend time with their family and friends,” the source revealed. “They are genuinely happy and taking things day by day. Fame doesn't phase either one of them and they admire that about each other.”
I admire that about both of them, too.
Also going public: Joshua Jackson and Lupita Nyong’o. The two were spotted at a Janelle Monae concert together back in October, but sources close to them denied they were a couple at the time, probably because Jackson’s wife Jodie Turner-Smith had just filed for divorce. But apparently enough time has passed, so Jackson, 45, and Nyong’o, 40, did a weird pap stroll in Joshua Tree to tell the world they’re an item:
