Hello and welcome to Gossip Time, a weekly guide to the stars by Allie Jones. This week: an actor gets a Russian girlfriend, a pop star takes on Deuxmoi, and the Olsen twins are matching again.
Weeeee oooo weeeee ooooo: Tom Cruise allegedly has a new girlfriend, and she was until very recently married to a Russian oligarch. Cruise, who has not had a serious public relationship since Katie Holmes divorced him 11 years ago, is apparently dating Elsina Khayrova, a Russian socialite who currently lives in London. Cruise reportedly also lives mostly outside London now (for more on his specific whereabouts, please refer to this amazing piece of reporting by Caity Weaver from this summer). According to Us Weekly, Cruise, 61, and Khayrova, 36ish (accounts vary), “met through mutual friends” in the city.
The evidence of this new relationship comes from The Daily Mail, which reports that Khayrova brought Cruise as her plus-one to a mostly Russian holiday party in Grosvenor Square earlier this month. “They were inseparable, clearly a couple,” a source told the British tabloid. “He seemed to be besotted with her.” A source told Us Weekly, meanwhile, that Cruise and Khayrova have been dating for “a while now” and that Cruise is “extremely confident” about the relationship. Cruise seems extremely confident about everything in his life, so that tracks.
“Tom is going into 2024 totally energized, excited and feeling healthier and happier than he has in years,” the source continued. “This is a very special time for him, and having a serious relationship in his life that he can build on is the icing on the cake.”
Okay, then. Five fast facts about Khayrova? She divorced the diamond-trading Russian oligarch Dmitry Tsetkov in 2022. The split was contentious, and Tsetkov accused Khayrova of hiding her $1 million handbag collection as the couple attempted to divide their considerable assets. She and Tsetkov share two young children. She has 13,000 followers on Instagram and regularly posts glamour shots with captions like, “The power of being yourself 🖤 #beyou #loveyourlife #womanstyle #parisstreetstyle #fashionstyle #classy”
I think this will end well.
Cruise is not the only Hollywood actor of a certain age enjoying life with a 30-something girlfriend. Brad Pitt celebrated his 60th birthday in Paris last weekend with his GF of a year or so Ines de Ramon, who is either 30 or 34 depending on whom you ask. Pitt also had a party at Mother Wolf in L.A. this week, where he was photographed wearing a Shirt and carrying a painting depicting two wolves.
And Justin Theroux, 52, went public with his actress girlfriend Nicole Brydon Bloom, 29, at her twin sister’s wedding last weekend. Scroll through for a photo of them together:

We have been living with the inanity of Deuxmoi for three long years, and it seems one celebrity has finally had enough. In the last few weeks, two separate emissaries of Taylor Swift have come for the anonymous creator of the Instagram gossip account, and one of them called her by her actual first name — ooh!
Swift’s long suffering publicist Tree Paine started the offensive at the end of last month with a Twitter post attacking a Deuxmoi story about Swift secretly marrying her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. (Who knows if the marriage story is true, and frankly, who cares.) “It’s time for you to be held accountable for the pain and trauma you cause with posts like these,” Paine wrote. Oh shit.
Then this week, Deuxmoi ran another item about Swift’s current boyfriend, Travis Kelce, claiming that he bought her this fancy looking ring for her birthday. Well guess what: He actually DIDN’T. Here’s Keleigh Teller, wife of Miles Teller and dutiful Swift squad member, taking credit for the gift:
Take that, Melissa. It is definitely embarrassing for Swift to care about these pretty innocuous Deuxmoi items, but I welcome celebrity backlash against the account. Also: If not jewelry, what DID Kelce get Swift for her birthday? A car??
