Gossip predictions for 2025

Hello and welcome to Gossip Time, a weekly guide to the stars by Allie Jones. This week: My official celebrity gossip predictions for 2025.

Before we sign off for the year, let’s anticipate what mayhem our favorite celebrities may cause in the months to come. I have a few predictions, but please leave your own in the comments!

1. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will elope. It will happen sometime after football season is over, and it will be timed to some kind of Swift collectors’ edition item that you can buy at Target. Of course, I hope Swift and Kelce actually have a big wedding on her Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, but I think it would be too big of a security risk. (She practically shut down New Jersey just attending Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley’s wedding last year.) I think Swift will play a starring role in Selena Gomez’s big wedding to Benny Blanco, though.

2. Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater will break up before Wicked Part Two comes out in November. (Have you seen Slater’s ex-wife Lilly Jay’s essay in The Cut? It’s sooo nice, considering.)

3. Brad Pitt will get engaged to Ines de Ramon, but they won’t get married. Bradley Cooper will get engaged to Gigi Hadid, and they also won’t get married. Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet will get married, but they won’t tell anyone.

4. Blake Lively will attempt a P.R. comeback on the press tour for A Simple Favor 2 and accidentally say something so offensive that she becomes a hero to the anti-woke contingent.

5. Hilary Duff will release a new single. (Wishful thinking.)
